The City of Minnewaukan is located along Hwy 281, at the intersection of Hwy 19. Minnewaukan is the county seat of Benson County and all county offices are located in Minnewaukan. Population-approx. 175. Minnewaukan is close in proximity to several larger communities;

City council meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at

6pm in the library.

City Dump Hours:

Wed: 5-7pm

Sat: 10-12pm

May-Oct. weather permitting

Closed during winter

Metal, appliances, leaves, trees & wood are only permitted.

NO plastic, tires, furniture or beds.

A City dumpster will be available Spring & Fall for these items.

Water Bills are due on the 15th of each month. Late fee of $10.00 on all accounts past due.


Dumpsters within the City are not for personal use. These are paid for by individuals for their use. Be respectful and DON'T use them.The garbage guy will not dump the dumpsters if they contain metal or trees.
